Engineering - General - Design Engineer 1

Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Education Requirement Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.
0-2 years experience required. Technical Skills Required Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.
Knowledge of computer development software across multiple platforms.
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
Pattern Shop department is critical part of Hodges Foundry. Department provides Pattern Tooling, tooling support and knowledge to Production. This position will help the Pattern Shops turn around more tooling jobs and provide more support to Production in addressing issues.
Typical Day:
Typical day will have varying degree of the below task. Hand measure Pattern tooling equipment and create 3D CAD models. Use Creo CAD software to review models, create models, make assembles of multiple models and create drawing from models. Setup CAD solid models for Magma Simulation. Create Pattern Tooling design using Creo software for No-Bake Foundry. Work with departments employees to ensure task are done correctly. Use of QAD software for to document Tooling BOM. Troubleshoot production process issue and provide knowhow to operators on the floor. Operate forklift. Others task as needed in the department.
