JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Clinical Operations ‿ Medical Group Operations will report to the Associate Vice President, Academic and Clinical Operations, and will be responsible for overseeing critical projects within the Medical School, School of Health Professions, and in collaboration with Department Administrators across campus. This role plays a key part in supporting the operational priorities of the Medical Group by partnering with clinical departments to understand and address their unique needs, challenges, and barriers. The Manager will build and maintain productive relationships with departmental stakeholders, fostering alignment between clinical operations and academic objectives. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and consistent communication with departmental and institutional leaders. The Manager will advance improvement objectives originating from Academic Affairs and the Medical Group and ensure timely execution of these goals through effective planning, implementation, performance monitoring, and data-driven decision making.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field Experience
5 years of progressively responsible experience in complex organizations.
May consider additional years of experience in lieu of education. Preferred Education
Master's Degree in Business or Health Administration JOB DUTIES
- Clinical Effort Management:
- Partner with Provost Operations to develop and deliver evaluations and reports comparing expected clinical effort with actual scheduled time, enhancing operational transparency.
- Collaborate with the Associate Vice Provost and Health System leaders to validate and approve expected clinical effort for faculty, aligning resources with departmental needs.
- Coordinate ongoing communication with clinical departments and Health System stakeholders to ensure reporting of clinical effort aligns with the institutional clinical strategic plan.
- Support departmental leaders by managing faculty deployment across departments and the Health System in response to evolving operational priorities and clinical demands.
- Engage departments, Medical Group Finance, and the Health System to track anticipated physician recruitment, identifying and addressing barriers to clinical staffing.
- Oversee the capture and analysis of clinical scheduling data (e.g., QGenda), establishing standardized logic to translate scheduled activities into half-day equivalents for reporting and planning
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Provide targeted analytical support to departments by coordinating with Provost Finance and Medical Group Finance on clinical operations reporting.
- Evaluate and ensure appropriate allocation of MSRDP resources, particularly regarding research expenses, in compliance with MSRDP Research Guidelines.
- Incentive Plan Development and Monitoring:
- Serve as a liaison between Academic Affairs, the Health System, and departments to recommend group incentive goals that drive quality, safety, and positive patient outcomes.
- Partner with Health System leaders and clinical departments to identify and refine relevant performance metrics.
- Facilitate the review and approval of departmental incentive plans, offering consultative support to align operational and institutional priorities.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of departmental plan performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continued alignment with clinical strategic goals.
- Strategic and Operational Projects:
- Lead or support key strategic and operational initiatives driven by the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Career Development and Associate Vice President for Academic and Clinical Operations.
- Build strong, productive relationships with clinical departments and administrative stakeholders to identify challenges, understand operational needs, and collaboratively develop sustainable solutions.
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned to advance the mission of Academic Affairs and the Medical Group
- Performs other duties as assigned.
