Schedule Details: Full-time evening shifts, typically consisting of 8 or 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. Call requirements involve primarily overnight shifts, with about 5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots in an 8-week scheduling period.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for optimal patient care during surgical procedures.
  • Set up and manage operating room equipment while anticipating the surgeons' needs.
  • Conduct environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency checks of the operating room.
  • Function as a Second Assistant when required.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve equipment and supply issues.
  • Transport patients and handle equipment responsibly.
  • Ensure completeness and availability of specialty carts and equipment.
  • Position and transport patients using proper techniques.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques in surgical settings.
  • Familiarity with operating room equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform other physically demanding activities.
  • Exposure to various hazards and compliance with safety protocols, including wearing protective gear.
