Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Retail Guest Associate to join our team in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform various tasks such as stocking, merchandising, cashiering, and processing returns. Goo Goo Chocolate Co retail guest associates are responsible for delivering exceptional shopping experience for every guest and assisting the General Manager and Assistant Store Managers with the daily operations and objective of the store. This position requires a blend of strong communication skills, food handling and dedication.
Responsibilities- Assist customers with their shopping needs and provide excellent customer service
- Stock shelves and merchandise products according to company standards
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Process returns and exchanges in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Be a brand ambassador of Goo Goo Cluster by providing knowledge of history and products sold. Provide a pleasant and memorable experience to each guest personally representing Goo Goo Clusters core values and purpose.
- Excite guests about their custom DYO creations by demonstrating a passion for chocolate, promote a clean working methodology and holding yourself to a high-quality standard.
- Follow standard operating procedures and complete all tasks as assigned by the General Manager. Assist Managers with associate breaks on retail floor and DYO bar.
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, kitchen, retail floor and restrooms.
- Educate self on new product features and benefits if not part of sales training.
- Acknowledge all guests and be attentive.
- Interact with guests by assisting them in locating products, demonstrating product features and benefits where applicable, and by offering suggestions and alternatives.
- Assist team members and guests with checkout and DYO to ensure fast and accurate service.
- Maintain the proper display of products ensuring they comply with stores image and quality standards.
- Provide ongoing updates to General Manager regarding guest feedback and complaints.
- Ensure the daily set up of workstations and equipment are efficiently executed, as well as the end of day general cleaning and daily deep cleaning duties.
- Monitor quality control of all products and ingredients by following recipes and instructions, tasting product, maintaining proper date-coding procedures, inventory and stock rotation, and proper receiving and storing of delivered goods.
- Operate the point of sales adhering to all sales transactions policies and protocols.
- Use safe work practices to eliminate slips, trips and falls.
- Previous experience as a retail associate
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently as a stocker and merchandiser
- Experience with cash handling and operating as a cashier
- Knowledge of processing returns and exchanges
- Must have or obtain food handlers permit and TABC within 60 days of employment.
- Withstand prolonged periods of standing and walking through retail space
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Flexible work schedule including weekends.
- 1-2 years food handling, hospitality and retail experience or a mixture of two.
