Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Certifications Requirements: CPR certification, Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA)
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of First Assist experience or Scrub Tech experience
  • Other Requirements: Ability to collaborate cooperatively with co-workers, managers, patients, visitors, vendors, families, and physicians; decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to promote a positive facility image

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures, ensuring all actions adhere to sterile techniques and facility protocols.
  • Evaluate the patient's surgical site in the Pre Op Holding area to assist in proper positioning, promoting safety and optimal surgical access.
  • Prepare the operating room by organizing equipment, supplies, and ensuring all necessary tools are available prior to procedures.
  • Perform intraoperative tasks such as achieving hemostasis, tissue manipulation, and assisting with closure while following surgeon preferences.
  • Support in managing supplies, documenting procedures, and maintaining sterile field standards throughout the surgical process.
