Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on all vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Perform annual inspections on fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and light-duty vehicles, adhering to all regulations.
  • Carry out thorough preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to maintain a reliable fleet.
  • Address driver-reported vehicle issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications across various vehicle systems.
  • Document all maintenance work systematically on work orders.
  • Utilize Sysco computer programs effectively and improve efficiency.
  • Show proficiency in electrical meter testing and have knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Manage electrical repairs and welding projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education Requirements:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Current and valid driver's license
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Technical training in medium/heavy-duty trucks.
    • 1-3 years experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • Annual and brake inspector certifications.
    • ASE certifications (automotive or medium/heavy-duty trucks) preferred but not required.
    • 609 HVAC certification.
    • Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs.
    • Technician must own basic tools; diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco.
