Pay: $21.49 - $27.94 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant I - Float Pool provides high-quality clinical and administrative support across a network of up to 15 outpatient clinics. This role is designed for a highly adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to delivering consistent, patient-centered care regardless of location. The Float Medical Assistant supports providers and care teams by ensuring efficient clinic operations, seamless patient flow, and adherence to clinical standards while traveling between assigned sites as operational needs require.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct clinical support to providers, including patient intake, vital signs, medical history documentation, and preparation of patients for examinations and procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing, as assigned.
- Support administrative functions including appointment preparation, room turnover, supply management, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Float between up to 15 clinic locations, adapting quickly to varying workflows, provider preferences, and patient populations.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and organizational policies across all clinic sites.
- Deliver consistent, compassionate, and professional patient care, serving as a reliable representative of the organization at each location.
- Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and leadership to ensure continuity of care and smooth daily operations.
- Assist with patient education, follow-up instructions, and coordination of care as directed.
- Identify and escalate operational or clinical concerns to appropriate leadership to support quality improvement and patient safety.
- Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Required Licensure/Certification: CMA/RMA. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- Minimum Experience: None Required.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
