Job Description
Embassy Suites Nashville Airport is actively seeking to hire a very strong, exceptionally knowledgeable, energetic and highly experienced Controller to join our outrageous executive team.
Must be able to analyze financial data of operations in order to advise hotel management and to assist in maintaining an efficient operation. Must have knowledge of business law, federal, state and local taxes, as well as Department of Labor regulations. Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions. Analyze Financial data of operations in order to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining and efficient operation. Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the hotel. Prepare forecast and budgets as required. Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all Corporate Audit policies and procedures and implement the agreed upon recommendations.
Requirements:
*The qualified candidate will need 3-5 years minimum of hotel experience as Controller.
*Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability and flow through.
*Hire, train and supervise the Accounting Department staff including coaching, counseling and discipline.
*Ensure compliance with record keeping policies.
*Perform other duties that may be assigned by the General Manager or Corporate Staff
*Ensure that hotel is in compliance with State and Local tax laws.
*Prepare needed financial reporting in a timely manner.
*Reconcile all operating bank statements.
*Oversee all cash handling operations and procedures, including food and beverage
