We have an exciting career opportunity to work on a long term contract driving position with a world class technology giant as an AV testing driver
This is a DIFFICULT training to pass so applicants must have superior driving skills. The strongest qualified candidates will be savvy drivers that have some exposure to alternative driving such as driving on a racetrack, driving ATV’s, motocross or any specialized training.
What you’ll be doing:
-Drive all test vehicles in safe manner and in accordance with local laws and company compliance.
-AV vehicle driver is responsible for conducting daily vehicle pre trip inspections.
-Perform vehicle system calibrations.
-Perform TOH (Test operator handbook guidelines)
-Collaborate with developers and test operators on autonomous testing plans.
-Operate company and partner test vehicles with engineers, developers, and test operators to perform autonomous vehicle testing.
-Be able to perform various administrative Drive Ops duties.
-Be able to physically assist engineers with set up and testing of NCAP test equipment.
-Monitor systems on the car and follow procedures to calibrate & troubleshoot equipment.
-Coordinate with teams to ensure data integrity, proper data transfer, and management of routes is critical.
Day shift position starting at either 7am -4pm or 8am- 5pm. Drivers would work over the weekends and have 2 consecutive days off in the middle of the week (days to be determined once they start). Ability to work weekends. Must be willing to travel. Pay $45 per hour. Must have a positive attitude and enthusiastic about being part of this dynamic team

You MUST possess the below skills and experience in order to be qualified:
-Must have prior AV driving experience.
-Must have knowledge of Linux, QNX and Unix command lines and strong computer skills
-Drivers license for a minimum of 3 years with a clear driving record.
-Highly detail oriented individual and able to identify and document problems.
-Able to provide concise written and oral feedback to the Drive Ops and engineering teams.
-Aware of computer hardware and interfaces
-Strong troubleshooting skills to debug the issues and follow the instructions
-Prior knowledge of Autonomous Vehicles/self-driving car features like ACC, lane keep, active safety, and parking
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Highly developed and detailed communication and organizational skills
-Flexible, reliable, and able to work a standard 40 hour work week plus overtime as needed/required.
-Travel will be required to various states for AV testing
-Ability to pass an intense behind the wheel driver training.
-In order to pass this driver safety course you must have the ability to successfully maneuver a vehicle as it passes through safety cones while maintaining a certain speed, (car will fishtail or drift), handle the vehicle as it accelerates and comes to an abrupt stop,
and able to accelerate while taking sharp corners.
-Testing is done in a safe environment on a racetrack. Some instruction is given but you must be able to really handle a vehicle in all types of situations and weather conditions.
