Senior Project Manager

Job Description:

Onset Technologies is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide high-level project management leadership for agency-wide priority initiatives and special projects. This role delivers senior-level consultative services and technical assistance, ensuring projects are planned, executed, monitored, and reported using established project management best practices.

The Senior Project Manager will work across multiple business and program units, maintaining alignment between strategic objectives, operational execution, and stakeholder expectations. The position operates under limited supervision and requires a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, and accountability. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple, concurrent projects and special initiatives aligned with DSHS priorities.

• Plan, budget, schedule, monitor, and document all phases of assigned projects.

• Assess, analyze, and evaluate project management implementation across programs and recommend improvements.

• Develop and maintain project artifacts including project charters, statements of work, schedules, budgets, work plans, risk and issue logs, contingency plans, and status reports.

• Maintain coordination across related initiatives to ensure dependencies, risks, and milestones are actively managed.

• Track and report project progress, risks, issues, budgets, and outcomes to executive and senior leadership.

• Develop and maintain project management tools and repositories for critical and high-visibility initiatives.

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, working sessions, and project team status meetings.

• Identify project barriers and drive timely resolution of issues.

• Partner with program leaders, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of project outcomes.

• Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, dashboards, and presentations for diverse audiences.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional project management experience , managing multiple projects in large, complex organizations.

• Proven ability to research, analyze, correlate, and synthesize complex information to solve problems and develop actionable recommendations.

• Strong experience developing reports that identify gaps in technology, operations, or process effectiveness.

• Demonstrated expertise in business process mapping, process improvement, and group facilitation.

• Hands-on experience developing project documentation including: Project charters, Statements of Work (SOW), Schedules and budgets, Risk assessments and mitigation plans, Test plans and design documentation

• Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with project sponsors, business owners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Proven ability to remove project obstacles and ensure resolution of risks and issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience preparing executive-level briefing documents, administrative reports, and PowerPoint presentations.

• Strong capability to summarize, escalate, and communicate issues appropriately to leadership.

• Experience delivering regular written and verbal status updates, including weekly project reports and budget tracking.

• Prior experience supporting public sector or health and human services initiatives is a plus.

• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
