Durham MRI Technologist Job Details
  • Location: Durham, NC 27704 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
  • Facility: Hospital Radiology / MRI Unit
  • Assignment Type: Travel MRI Technologist
  • Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 2/23/2026 - End: 5/25/2026)
  • Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts/week (Friday 12pm-12am, Saturday & Sunday 7am-7pm OR Thursday 12pm-12am, Saturday & Sunday 7am-7pm)
  • Total Hours: 36 per week
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly, 20 hours
  • Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
MRI Technologist Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent MRI technologist experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Active ARRT (MR) certification (MRI Technologist credential)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Proficiency with GE and Siemens MRI equipment
  • Experience using Epic charting system
  • Comfortable working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Valid Compact or North Carolina (NC) radiologic technologist license in hand
  • One recent supervisory reference (within the last year)
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI scans for diverse patient populations and clinical indications
  • Operate GE and Siemens MRI machines safely and efficiently
  • Prepare and administer contrast media as required
  • Start peripheral IVs and monitor patient safety throughout procedures
  • Document procedures and patient information using Epic
  • Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, rapid response)
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
