House of Hope, a nonprofit organization, is looking for a detailed-oriented and well-organized Staff Accountant to join our team As a Staff Accountant your position is essential in preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
· High School Diploma required.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
· At least two years of related experience required.
· Computer Literate
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs general accounting and other related duties.
Maintains the general ledger.
Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
Monthly reconciliation of credit card and petty cash accounts.
Record payroll expenses
Assist in month end and year end closing activities.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Adept in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks online.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software, and accounting software.
· Excellent organizational skills
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to accepted accounting principles.
