Job Description- Test and Assess climbing skills of prospective Rock Wall Instructors
- Test and Assess belaying skills of prospective Rock Wall Instructors
- Test and Assess safety skills of prospective Rock Wall Instructors
- Ability to provide belaying training to staff
- Provide evaluation on the hiring of prospective Rock Wall Instructors
- Shadow new hires to ensure they are compliant with safety and skills
- Set Routes and Boulder for all climbing abilities
- Set routes at both Sports Club NY and E61st climbing walls
- Assist with the cleaning of the wall
- Uphold safety standards and best practices for equipment (harnesses, ropes, auto-belay, shoes)
- Keep the equipment closet clean and tidy
- Be a team player and have a positive work attitude/environment
- 5 years of experience in a commercial climbing gym
- Belay certification
- Passionate about climbing
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current climbing trends and equipment
- Ability to climb/belay
- Ability to lift on average 50 lbs. daily
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Work-at-Height Certification a plus
- Active CPR/AED Certification
- Pay Transparency: $25.00 per hour
