A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT)
As a PT, you are responsible for evaluating, developing, implementing, and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages. In addition, this position is responsible for serving as a case manager providing supervision of students, physical therapist assistants (PTA), and home care aides.
- Actively monitors and amends patient visit schedule to maximize productivity and patient needs.
- Performs comprehensive (OASIS and PT) assessments of assigned patients.
- Develops a plan of care to promote optimal functional independence and safety as documented by clinical record.
- Plans for and provides skilled physical therapy treatment including, but not limited to, therapeutic techniques, patient/care giver education, and assessing the patient's status and progress on each visit.
- As Care Manager and/or team member, coordinates patient care with other clinical team members.
- Supervises and directs clinical activities of PTAs, PT students, and home care aides.
- Completes and coordinates required paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university or college required. Master's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of PT experience is preferred.
- Valid State Driver's License required.
