Senior Enterprise Software Engineer

Wolters Kluwer is seeking a motivated and talented Senior Enterprise Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering team, contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our enterprise cloud platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with various stakeholders, including our experienced engineering team, Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, and other key partners. Your primary focus will be on engineering practices to streamline our software development processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our cloud platform. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of DevSecOps tools and application and platform technologies, helping to build and maintain our continuous integration and delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes.
You will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including application and platform automation, infrastructure management, monitoring, and performance optimization. Your foundational understanding of application and platform engineering concepts, practices, and tools will be critical as you contribute to the implementation of best practices and the optimization of our platform workflows. Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable and reliable applications or enterprise software systems.
- Support architecture for complex applications ensuring they meet business requirements.
- Ensure systems deliver to meet resilience requirements.
- Implement best practices in coding and software development.
- Perform the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of platforms.
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, operations, QA, etc.).
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure software and platforms comply with security standards and regulations.
- Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments.
- Adhere to access controls and protect sensitive data.
- Document processes, procedures, and infrastructure setups.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Continuously improve systems, processes, and methodologies.
- Participate in project planning and execution.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine requirements.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable and high-quality deliverables.
- Explore generative AI technologies to enhance software capabilities.
- Deploy AI models for automated content generation and predictive analytics.
Other Duties:
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Knowledge of AI and Generative AI technologies.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in application/platform engineering or software engineering role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks and infrastructure management.
- Working knowledge of programming frameworks (e.g., .NET, JAVA) and application development.
- Working experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) management, including writing and maintaining modules.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), including creating and managing pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including designing and implementing cloud services and architectures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring platform reliability and scalability.
- Thought Leadership and Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn and contribute to team success.
