Job Goal
The Information Center Representative will provide a wide range of information to students, faculty, staff, and community members about PHSC and its two-county district.

Salary: Higher of Florida or Federal Minimum Wage
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  1. Provides information and help to callers without transferring callers unnecessarily.
  2. Provides information to inquiries via electronic mail.
  3. Is proficient in using:
    • the call center communications software.
    • the College student record data system.
    • the PHSC website as an information source.
    • the College email system.
    • the mass communication system.
    • the online chat system and database.
  4. Seeks knowledge about PHSC and its district-wide services, programs, and organizational structure.
  5. Keeps current about PHSC news and events in order to answer questions and direct callers to the appropriate point(s) of contact for registration.
  6. Takes initiative to obtain answers to questions.
  7. Prepares correspondence, logs, and reports as directed.
  8. Enters and checks data for Student Inquiry Database.
  9. Prepares informational materials for mailing and emailing.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Standard High School Diploma/GED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Excellent customer service skills, telephone techniques, and grammar skills
  • Excellent word processing skills
  • Knowledge of database and spreadsheet programs
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to handle multiple calls in a friendly and pleasant matter
  • Ability to deal effectively with many situations in a busy environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Call center or customer service experience
