Senior Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical Construction

Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: Competitive base salary (DOE) + full benefits
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A highly respected employee-owned mechanical contractor is expanding its Mechanical Preconstruction team. This role is ideal for a strategic mechanical professional who thrives in early-stage project development-balancing estimating precision, client collaboration, and design coordination for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front-end planning and conceptual estimating for mechanical scopes (HVAC, piping, and plumbing)
  • Develop and manage budgets, cost models, and preconstruction schedules
  • Oversee scope definition, bid packaging, and value engineering efforts
  • Partner with internal engineering, BIM, and fabrication teams to ensure design efficiency and constructability
  • Act as a client-facing liaison with owners, architects, and GCs to guide project direction and expectations
  • Deliver accurate, timely proposals and preconstruction packages that support award-winning project execution
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical preconstruction, estimating, or project planning
  • Proven ability to build conceptual budgets and support design-assist/design-build delivery
  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC and piping systems
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
