Our client is currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant - Emotional Support around the Delaware County area

Location: Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Grade: Middle School

Position Title: Personal Care Assistant

Assignment: Emotional Support

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, school days
  • Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (subject to slight variation)
Position Summary: The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will provide direct support to students with special needs in alignment with district policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting behavior intervention plans and documenting student progress
  • Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
  • Facilitating IEP meetings and participating in problem-solving teams
  • Helping maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • For Upper Darby: minimum requirement is a photo of a high school diploma or official transcript with signature. Post-secondary degrees (associate, bachelor's, etc.) or official transcripts are also accepted. GEDs are not accepted; ParaPro test is not recognized.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn new strategies
  • Proficiency with multimedia and computer technology to support learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective collaborative relationships with students, staff, and parents
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
  • Support the use of resources and technology to encourage collaboration and problem-solving
  • Provide individualized support tailored to student needs
  • Monitor student growth and adhere to district assessment policies
  • Manage student behavior across various settings
  • Participate in professional learning communities to strengthen curriculum and assessment practices
  • Communicate professionally in all written and oral interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
