Job Description

Elite Executive Partners is sourcing a Payroll Specialist for a fast-growing company in Siouxland. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll for all employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of payroll systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle complex payroll issues. The Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, Finance, and management to maintain payroll accuracy and support employee needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Well-developed organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Competency with Microsoft Office applications and bookkeeping tasks. Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Process full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and salary changes.
  • Audit and reconcile payroll data to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Process garnishments, benefit deductions, bonuses, and special payroll adjustments.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for HR, Finance, and management.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll filings, including W-2s and 1099s.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and taxes.
  • Support audits by providing payroll records and documentation.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar).
  • Understanding of payroll compliance regulations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and HRIS knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • 2-4 years of payroll experience.
