The City of Fairfield is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Program Specialist - Boxing Coach to join the Fairfield Police Activities League (PAL) Teen Center. This unique position will lead and grow PAL's boxing program, providing training, mentorship, and positive guidance to participants of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in boxing, a commitment to youth and community development, and the ability to foster a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact by combining athletic expertise with public service in a dynamic and rewarding setting.
The Program Specialist - Boxing Coach will work 15-20 hours per week, primarily on weekdays after school. For more information about the position, please call 707-249-1379.
Please Note: This position is represented by Fairfield Part-Time Employees' Association (FPTEA), is part-time, year-round, non-benefited, and limited to working no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule to meet program needs, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Receives guidance and direction from a recreation program coordinator and general supervision from a supervisor or manager assigned to the service area. May provide guidance to part-time staff, volunteers and or contract employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:

• A minimum of two years' experience working with the demographic served by the program area where the vacancy is being filled is required.
• Experience in coordination and implementing a variety of activities and programs in the area of specialization is highly desirable.

Education:

• Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade is required. An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is desirable.

LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE

Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Driver's License at the time of appointment is required.

First Aid and CPR certification may be required based on the program area where the vacancy is being filled.
