Description:
The Sonographer provides quality care to patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates full knowledge of Ultrasound procedures and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre and post procedure instructions, and verifying patient's identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters.
  • Perform ultrasound exams using proper protocols and positioning techniques, transporting patients safely, verifying accuracy of orders and documenting patient information.
  • Document the patient's exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system.
  • Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications and societies.
  • Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence, and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills including Email and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record Systems and PACS Systems. Use of Ultrasound equipment, disinfection unit, and general office equipment.
