Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care by utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As a key member of the clinical support team, the RN collaborates with multidisciplinary members to address the clinical needs of patients while maximizing their quality of life. The RN promotes a culture of care and serves as a mentor to fellow staff.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care within the scope and standards of safe nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and meet patient needs.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned patients in a primary nursing model.
  • Participate in care planning while supporting patient autonomy.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Identify and pursue necessary resources for safe, effective care.
  • Supervise clinical care provided by LPNs and nursing assistants.
  • Take charge of personal learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and partake in shared governance.
  • Improve work processes and serve as a support resource to staff.
  • Address safety concerns promptly in the unit.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and quality monitoring.
  • Contribute positively to unit activities and assist with daily operations.
  • May take on charge nurse responsibilities, which include delegating assignments, overseeing admissions and discharges, and participating in rounds.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
  • Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
  • Previous nursing experience preferred.
  • Understanding and support for the care philosophy at Hebrew SeniorLife required.
  • Professional, proactive, and results-oriented attitude required.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and creative thinking abilities are crucial.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changes.
  • Motivated to learn and flexible to change.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.

Salary Range: $32.13 - $48.20
