Surfpoint Recovery is looking for a Mental Health Counselor as we grow and expand. Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center that has partnered with DailyPay for same day access to funds Employees no longer have to wait until pay day to get their earnings. We are located in Coney Island, Brooklyn NY. We are an OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder. The Mental Health Counselor assists with the maintenance of policies and procedures that will be utilized in the implementation of all regulatory standards. They will also assist with ensuring that standard of patient care is maintained; these standards are based in "best practice approaches".
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage a caseload
- Weekly individual and group counseling sessions (as assigned).
- Performs assessment and intake as needed.
- Assist with the development of clinical treatment tracks that are diversified in language and culture that will meet the treatment and service needs of patients and families.
- Assist with weekly utilization reviews based on established clinical and administrative protocols.
- Assist with monthly skills-based workshops relative to chemical dependency.
- Assist with the review, process, and distribute incident reports based on established agency-wide protocol as directed.
- Provide input for employee reviews as requested.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly case conference and case reviews.
Assist with the assessment and intake process. - Assist with the clinical discharge process.
- Responsible for adhering to a standard of maintaining 10 billable units of service per day based on caseload.
- Record individual patient data in the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) Substance abuse Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) as required weekly/monthly.
- Monitors patient toxicology testing.
Experience:
- At least 1-year of experience in a similar setting preferred.
- NYS Licensure (LMHC)
- NYS Limited Permit or Permit Eligible. (MHC-LP)
