What to Expect As a member of the Tesla steering firmware team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality embedded code that controls the steering rack and feedback actuator on steer-by-wire systems. Come join a team of highly knowledgeable engineers that strive to build the safest and most performant vehicle control systems in production. You will solve some of the most challenging problems that span vehicle dynamics, motor controls, safety systems, and embedded software engineering.
What You'll Do
  • Deliver high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment

  • Develop peripheral drivers for microcontrollers (CAN, SPI, ADC, PWM, SENT)

  • Develop device drivers for angle sensors, gate drivers and other devices

  • Writesoftware-in-the-loop (SIL) tests using python

  • Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging and code optimization

  • Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements

  • Collaborate with validation, service and manufacturing counterparts to deliver safe, reliable and scalable products


What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor'sDegreein Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar areas of study, or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency in C, familiarity with MISRA C a plus

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability

  • Experience with embedded microprocessor tools

  • Experience working with PCBA schematics

  • Experience with real-time operating system development

  • Experience using Vector CANape or CANalyzer a plus

Expected Compensation $111,200 - $433,680/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
