Senior Applications Developer

A global professional services organization is seeking a Senior Applications Developer to design, build, and support business-critical applications and integrations that power firmwide operational and legal support functions. This role may be based in a U.S. office or performed fully remote from a firm-approved U.S. state.
The Senior Applications Developer combines full-stack development, cloud architecture, data engineering, and responsible AI to modernize legacy platforms, improve efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of security, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in enabling modern, scalable solutions across Human Resources, Recruiting, Finance, Accounting, and other enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve business applications using a product mindset, including requirements gathering, solution design, roadmaps, and backlog management
- Design and build modern web applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations using contemporary development frameworks
- Lead AI enablement initiatives, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt design, evaluation, and implementation of safety and governance controls
- Build and integrate solutions across Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Graph, Teams, and the Power Platform
- Maintain and enhance HR, recruiting, finance, and accounting systems and integrations with a focus on data accuracy, security, and auditability
- Design and operate data pipelines and governed datasets to support reporting and analytics initiatives
- Implement security, compliance, and identity standards, including authentication, authorization, data loss prevention, logging, and auditing
- Establish and maintain reliability and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, and incident management
- Design and administer relational and NoSQL databases, including support for AI-enabled vector search workloads
- Manage vendor relationships, platforms, documentation, training, and provide high-quality internal client service and escalated technical support
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Ten or more years of experience delivering secure, scalable enterprise applications; experience in professional services environments preferred
- Strong experience with cloud-first architectures, APIs, integrations, databases, and production-grade AI features
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential data under strict governance and change-management controls
- Proficiency with modern development technologies and frameworks, including full-stack web development and API design
- Experience with cloud platforms and services; Microsoft Azure experience strongly preferred
- Experience integrating enterprise productivity platforms, data platforms, and reporting tools
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms, including large language models and responsible AI practices
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and infrastructure-as-code
- Strong judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to client service, reliability, and confidentiality
