The Finance & Strategy Associate will be a key member of the finance team contributing to the long-term financial strategy.

About Vaulted Deep

Vaulted is a waste management company that removes carbon. We take organic waste that can pollute our environment above ground and safely inject it ultra deep underground-permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere while protecting local land, air, and water. Vaulted is based in Houston, San Francisco, and Kansas. With a growing team of 70+ people across the country, Vaulted signed the second largest carbon removal offtake ever with Microsoft in July 2025 and is rapidly expanding to new sites. Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions now, at scale.

Description

At Vaulted, we have an aggressive plan to rapidly grow our team and subsequent climate impact. As a Finance & Strategy Associate youwill be a key member of the finance team reporting to theVP of Finance, your responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to:

Corporate and Project Finance

  • Develop and refinethe corporate long-range planningmodelto support debt and equity capital raises
  • Work with the business development and subsurface teams to build financial models to assess profitability and financing potential of new sites and geographies for Vaulted
  • Assistin structuring and negotiating term sheets, credit agreements, and financing documents.
  • Work with lenders, investors, and legal teams to close transactions efficiently
  • Support analysis ofoptimalcapital structures for both project-level and corporate-level financing
Corporate Strategy & Growth Initiatives
  • Contribute to long-term financial strategy and capital allocation planning
  • Provide strategic input on expansion into new markets, technologies, or partnerships
  • Support the leadership team with ad-hoc financial analyses and decision support

  • 2+ years of work experience ininvestment banking,consultingor related field,preferablywith a focus onenergy, climate, orindustrials
  • Experience withfinancial modeling,profitability analysis,and translating complex data into a clear and compelling story
  • Ability to learn new things exceptionally quickly and todevelop insight and a perspective on a new topic ina short periodof time
  • Excitement to get one's hands dirtyin complex projects, whetherin the details of a financial model for a particular project orpullingdatatogetherto understand a growth strategy
  • Excellent written and spoken interpersonal and communication with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including customers, businesspartnersand team members. Capable of presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Committed to sustainability with anunderstanding of the environmental, social, and economic benefits of carbon removal and/or climate change mitigation

The Fine Print
  • This is afull-timerolefor VaultedDeep, witha main office in Houston. Wewill consider remotecandidates that are willing to move to the Houston area and provide a relocation assistance.
  • This position will require some work travel, especially for those who areexpecting to be remote, to our offices as well as our well sites (currently in Hutchinson, KS and Los Angeles, CA).Additionaltravel isexpectedtoinvestors, lenders,industryconferences,and waste partner offices.


Salary

$95,000 - $115,000 per year
