Overview

A private family of 3 adults and 1 child in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn is seeking a meticulous, proactive, and trustworthy full-time housekeeper to maintain their 8,000 sq ft, multi-level townhouse to an exceptional standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to follow direction while taking initiative when needed. Discretion and professionalism are essential. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Local candidates only, please. Looking to hire immediately.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Maintain “hotel-level” cleanliness and organization throughout the home

  • All aspects of general cleaning (Family has an outside source for once-a-week deep cleans)
  • Change all bedding twice a week – Make the beds with precision
  • Handle laundry and steaming, including care of fine and couture fabrics
  • Ensure all floors and surfaces are always kept spotless
  • Organize closets, storage areas, and laundry rooms 
  • Adhere to daily and weekly cleaning schedules and checklists for each floor
  • Learn and manage the home’s security system and assist with package deliveries
  • Maintain a tidy, well-presented kitchen and bathrooms at all times
  • Communicate clearly and promptly during designated work hours
Qualifications
  • Professional, discreet, and trustworthy
  • Keen eye for detail and takes pride in their work
  • Communicative but not overly chatty
  • Ability to read the room and know when to step out
  • Works intuitively and is proactive
  • Knowledge of how to clean various surfaces, including stone, marble, and wood
  • Excellent with laundry and fine fabric care
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and following directions
  • Calm, warm presence
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in private, high-level households
  • Knowledge of fine fabrics. Must be able to read clothing labels
  • Child-friendly and family-oriented demeanor (family has a 6-year-old daughter)
  • Must be capable of managing stairs in a multi-story townhouse (home has an elevator for the transport of heavier items)
  • Legal to work in the U.S.
Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $50 per hour and PTO
