As Cloud Solution Architect you are primarily responsible for leading the design and implementation of cloud-based and middleware architectures to support seamless application integration and drive organizational strategies in our Fort Worth, TX location.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based and middleware architectures to enable seamless application integration and ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  
• Oversee teams responsible for developing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud and middleware solutions, providing mentorship and leadership to foster a culture of innovation and high-quality solution development.
  
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align cloud and middleware strategies with business goals and digital transformation objectives, ensuring architecture solutions enhance system interoperability.
  
• Directly impact the organization's ability to leverage cloud and middleware solutions for business agility and operational efficiency.
  
• Exercise high-level decision-making authority regarding the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud and middleware systems, aligning technical architecture decisions with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
  
• Landing Zones: Design and deploy multi-account landing zones following best practices for governance, compliance, and automation and implement identity and access management, guardrails, and policy enforcement.
  
• Network & Security: Architect secure network topologies, including VPC design, segmentation, and connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute), define and enforce security controls, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and integrate cloud-native security services and third-party tools for threat detection and response.
  
• Storage Architecture: Design scalable storage solutions (object, block, and file storage) optimized for performance and cost and implement backup, disaster recovery, and data lifecycle management strategies.
  
• Collaboration & Governance: Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and contribute to cloud operating models and governance frameworks.
  

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  
• 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  
• 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  

Preferred Skills:

• Proven experience in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with emphasis on networking, security, and storage.
  
• Strong understanding of Landing Zone frameworks and Cloud Operating Models.
  
• Hands-on expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep).
  
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
  
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid architectures.
  
• Knowledge of automation and DevSecOps practices.
