Opportunity:

Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Details:

• Perform computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients under general supervision
• May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations as needed
• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations
• Prepare procedure rooms and maintain stock of linens and related supplies
• Analyze anatomical structure of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information
• Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors
• Monitor patients for possible reactions and provide immediate care if reactions occur
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for procedures
• Assist Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection including patient shielding and ALARA techniques
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high quality image delivery into PACS
• Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System
• Transport patients to and from Emergency Department
• Perform all documentation in medical records and radiology information system
• Required: Associate's degree in Applied Science in Radiology
• Required: BLS certification from AHA
• Required: ARRT (CT) certification
• Required: Minimum 1 year of experience working in this position in hospital setting
• Required: Experience working in fast-paced environment independently
• Must have peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training
• Work in hospital with fixed unit or ambulatory Mobile Unit at Medical Centers
• May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients
• Occasionally lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs
