Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating benefits programs for Chord Energy. The Benefits Specialist will work on program design, respond to and/or resolve benefits questions and problems, process transactions and communicate with vendors on all benefits issues. Responsibilities will also include data integrity, benefits documentation, managing the open enrollment process and employee benefits education including conducting benefits orientation. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
  • Work with employees on benefits related issues in accordance with the plan/program provisions, including medical, dental, vision, life, flexible spending accounts, health spending accounts, disability plans, 401K plan (retirement), EAP, COBRA, etc.
  • Administer and maintain leaves of absence and counsel employees and managers
  • Manage benefits documentation and plan documents
  • Manage open enrollment process by ensuring accuracy of employee communication materials and facilitate open enrollment meetings
  • Review company provided benefit programs during new hire orientation
  • Manage employee level benefits data in the HR/Payroll system including benefits set up and reporting
  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor interfaces (eligibility data, employee changes, etc.) and payments
  • Work with Accounting to summarize and reconcile benefit vendor invoices
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure employees' concerns/complaints are resolved in a timely and equitable manner within guidelines of the plans
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Communicate plan highlights and changes, and coordinate non-discrimination and compliance testing
  • Coordinate annual external audits and 401(k) committee meetings
  • Coordinate and/or assist with additional projects and tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 years benefits analyst experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications
  • CBP or equivalent certification
