ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Baristas at EWR a re responsible for delivering the OTG Starbucks experience to all guests and fellow crewmembers. This job creates a great experienc e by providing guests with prompt service, quality beverages , and products and maintainin g a clean and comfortable store environment. To be successful in this role, the barista should enjoy working with others as exhibite d through great guest experiences , an d be motivated to keep the store cleane d and stocked.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to ensure smooth store operations and set a positive example for the shift team.

  • Assist with new crew training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.

  • Deliver the OTG experience to all guests by prioritizing their needs and connecting with them.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure resources are easily located and accessible for the crew.

  • Provide quality beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards.

  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.

  • Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, or quality of service problems to the manager on duty immediately .

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well-groomed appearance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Fully conversational in English

  • Able to lift 35 pounds in weight

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, stoop, kneel and crouch

  • Must be able to work varied hours/days, nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather conditions

  • Must be able to operate kitchen equipment, including espresso machines and grinders, coffee brews ovens , and blenders
