Position Summary

We are seeking a senior-level Chemical or Nuclear Engineer who combines deep technical credibility with strong client-facing and business-development skills to lead our growth initiative of supporting liquid-sodium reactor implementation.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. You will serve as AVANTech's primary technical interface to the advanced reactor community, understand emerging challenges in sodium chemistry, purification, cover-gas management, and related systems, and translate those challenges into engineered concepts which can be marketed to favorably position AVANTech for projects associate with design, fabrication, and integration.

The role can be structured as either:

A hands-on lead process engineer who also engages clients for scope capture, or

A technical project manager who drives scope capture and execution

Either way, you will be the face of AVANTech to a flagship advanced reactor program and thecatalyst for multi-year growth. You willbe supported by a dedicated team of engineers to execute the projects.

JobResponsibilities/Duties
  • Become AVANTech's in-house subject-matter expert on liquid-sodium reactor auxiliary systems (sodium processing, cover-gas, purification, cold traps, instrumentation, etc.)
  • Actively engage with advanced reactor developers to identify technical gaps andpropose conceptual solutions that leverage AVANTech's engineering andfabrication strengths
  • Lead preparation of white papers, technical presentations,and proposals that position AVANTech as the preferred partner for new projectsand/or additional scope on awarded projects
  • Serve as lead engineer or technical project manager onawarded projects associated with design, fabrication, and testing of sodium-relatedskids and systems
  • Support or lead business-development pursuits, clientmeetings, and relationship building
  • Collaborate with AVANTech's engineering, fabrication, andquality teams to ensure proposed solutions are executable and practical
RequiredQualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in nuclear or highly hazardous chemical process design and new-build projects
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex client technical challenges and articulate credible, value-added solutions
  • Proven client-facing experience - comfortable presenting to senior engineers, program directors, and executives
  • Strong business-development instincts and a track record of helping win new scope
  • Ability to travel 10-20% for client meetings, conferences, and site visits
  • US Citizenship required
Preferred (but not required)
  • Direct experience with liquid-metal (sodium, NaK, lead, or lead-bismuth) systems
  • Prior work on advanced reactors, SMR's, or Gen-IV programs
  • Existing relationships within the liquid-sodium reactor ecosystem specifically or the advanced nuclear community in general
