ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Doctor’s Assistant to join our Critical Care DepartmentOur Doctor’s Assistants help to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit. They collaborate with our doctors by handling administrative tasks, maintaining communication with clients and ensure a smooth daily flow. Your responsibilities may include:
- Work closely with Board Certified Specialists
- Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients
- Attach necessary records, images, diagnostic results, and other relevant documents to the patient file
- Dispense medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Prepare cost estimates for diagnostics, outpatient treatments, procedures, and hospitalizations, at home care and review them with pet owners.
- Ensure that client consent forms and estimates are signed when required.
- Assist in delivering high-quality, compassionate care for both clients and patients
- Guide clients through the euthanasia process, including assisting with paperwork and aftercare procedures.
- Have a desire to help people and their pets
- Proficient in using veterinary computer systems for data entry, including charges and patient information.
- Minimum 2 years veterinary experience in a client service role or similar role
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice
- A friendly and professional demeanor.
- Self-driven and motivated.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, critical care setting
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Must be able to work 1 weekend day per week
Shift hours worked between:
7pm-11pm = additional $2/hour
11pm-7am = additional $3/hour
