Lead Software Engineer
Join our innovative Engineering team as a Lead Software Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our next-generation cloud platform utilizing open-source software (OSS) and a variety of our internal services along with customer-facing gateways.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and platform development using Go, leveraging Kubernetes as a programmable framework. You'll be responsible for developing out-of-tree control-plane extensions, including controllers and API aggregation, while also publishing clear and versioned gRPC/REST APIs for dependable multi-tenant services. Familiarity with the CNCF landscape and an ability to discuss the benefits and trade-offs of adopting these tools will set you apart.
As a vital member of our PaaS team, you will help transform our IaaS foundation into scalable, product-ready, self-service platform services. You will have a significant impact on shaping service architecture, enhancing developer experience, ensuring observability, and cultivating reliability practices that keep our platform fast, secure, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop stable and scalable architecture, navigating the trade-offs between consistency, durability, and costs to address the evolving needs of a rapidly expanding platform.
- Design and deliver PaaS services from the ground up through successful production launches.
- Operate and provide ongoing support for services in a production environment.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on production-level Go programming.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science and a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning.
- Practical experience in building applications on Kubernetes.
- A solid understanding of performance, security, and reliability in complex distributed systems.
- An ownership mindset, demonstrating comfort with DevOps practices, production operations, and hands-on troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kubernetes component development and a deeper understanding of Kubernetes internals beyond controllers.
- A background in networking (SDN, BGP/routing, L4L7, load balancing) coupled with solid Linux fundamentals.
- Experience with service lifecycle and delivery tools: GitOps (Argo CD/Flux), Helm/Kustomize, CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
What We Offer:
- Flexible hybrid office and remote working arrangements.
- Competitive salary along with equity options.
- A dedicated Learning and Development budget.
- 24 days of paid time off (PTO).
- Opportunity to be part of a founding team.
- A chance for rapid career growth as the team expands.
- Be part of an industry-disrupting team involved in the Web3 revolution.
- Collaborate with intelligent, driven colleagues from top-tier companies and leading educational institutions.
- Engage in a transparent company culture that's open to feedback and allows you to wear multiple hats.
