Job Summary
The Process Engineer I provides engineering support for commissioning projects at industrial facilities such as processing plants, gas compression facilities, mining facilities, and other related types of projects. This position focuses on process engineering, testing, and troubleshooting during the start-up and commissioning phase of a plant. The Process Engineer carries out tasks outlined in the project's Scope of Work. Executes engineering activities at project sites and verifies that documentation is accurately completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure samples are taken correctly at the designated sampling point at the specified time.
- Supervise the mixing and dosing of reagents and monitor their consumption.
- Inform operations concerning the result of quality control activities such as moisture determination, pulp density, pH readings, CN strength, dissolved oxygen level, assay results, and the likes.
- Evaluate and test new reagents, equipment, and processes and provide feedback to operations and management.
- Provide information, instruction, training, and supervision to employees to enable them to perform their work safely and healthily.
- Enforce and adhere to all standard operating procedures related to quality control, safety, and protection of the environment.

- Understanding of automation (PLC / DCS) and electrical system design, diagnosis, and operation.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Comfortable expressing an independent opinion, resilient to change, and recognizes the impact of their decision on others.
- Will follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job under general supervision.
- Working on-site in heavy industrial environments mostly but not limited to mining and gas industries. These environments may have the following conditions: Extreme temperature conditions, both hot and cold; in and/or around moisture; on slippery and/or uneven surfaces, in confined spaces; and at heights.
- Hours of operation and employee schedules vary based on each project and may require irregular or extended hours and travel for project completion.
- Up to 70% travel, including both domestic and international travel.
- Will require frequent standing, occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing, and reaching.
- Will have exposure to noise, vibrations, well-treating chemicals, glycol, methanol, gasoline, natural gas, and liquid hydrocarbons.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in the process controls engineering field.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
