Senior Cybersecurity Architect

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to join our team at Cox Automotive. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining the principles, standards, and design patterns necessary for building secure products and enterprise tools across our multi-cloud and on-premises environments. This position emphasizes securing both multi-cloud infrastructure and services, as well as on-premises infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with various cross-functional teams, proposing comprehensive cybersecurity architectural guidelines for product and enterprise engineering teams. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and recommend relevant cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guardrails.
- Lead working groups focused on cybersecurity to define guidelines across the product and enterprise architecture group.
- Develop secure design patterns in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Analyze potential risks to information systems' security and recommend innovative solutions.
- Work with technical, development, and delivery teams to ensure efficient and scalable release processes.
- Engage with business and engineering teams to promote seamless adoption of secure design patterns.
- Participate in security events and incident response, identifying gaps in current designs and proposing preventative solutions.
- Research and evaluate emerging security trends, threats, and technologies, recommending appropriate enhancements.
- Collaborate with data users and technical stakeholders to incorporate security considerations into decision making.
- Work with cybersecurity peers on integrating governance, risk management, and compliance into cybersecurity standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combinations of education and experience).
- At least 4 years of focused experience in cybersecurity.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and services and on-premises infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills to convey cybersecurity policies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, and containerization architectures.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and initiating changes in Fortune 1000 companies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing cybersecurity standard methodologies across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Knowledge of application security, SaaS, network security, and DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with IAM, cryptography, access controls, and security protocols.
- Proficiency in languages and frameworks such as Python, .NET, Java, and others.
- Experience with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud enterprise solutions.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, AWS) are a plus.
Compensation for this position ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00, depending on various factors such as location and the candidate's qualifications. Additionally, employees are eligible for flexible vacation, paid holidays, and 160 hours of paid wellness annually.
