Norm Ai pioneered Legal Engineering, the process that empowers lawyers to build and supervise domain-specific AI agents with Norm's proprietary suite of no-code software tools. We hired dozens of lawyers from premier U.S. law firms and trained them as Legal Engineers, who specialize in Large Language Model powered legal workflows.

This Role

As a Legal Engineer- Agent Deployment at Norm Ai, you will occupy a pivotal role at the intersection of law, technology, and client success. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a legal subject matter expert by deeply engaging with clients as they navigate complex compliance and regulatory challenges using the Norm Ai platform. You will guide client onboarding and lifecycle engagement, ensuring clients maximize the platform's value while aligning their business objectives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams-including Client Engagement, Sales, Legal Engineering and AI Engineering-to ensure seamless client experiences and proactive solutions. You will translate legal, compliance, and business issues into actionable insights, becoming a trusted partner to our clients by surfacing client feedback and identifying opportunities to enhance the platform. You will also leverage our internal tools to further develop automated analysis of regulations.

You will need to be comfortable presenting and navigating nuanced discussions on regulatory and compliance topics, and wherever possible, you will seek to go above and beyond to meet their needs and demonstrate the value of Norm Ai. Whether it's preparing insights, conducting in-person, on-site client sessions, or dissecting complex documentation, your work will underscore Norm Ai's value proposition. You will connect the dots between regulatory landscapes, clients' operational contexts, and Norm Ai's technology, driving success for both our clients and our company.

Beyond client interactions, you will contribute to strategic initiatives, producing thoughtful, metrics-driven materials that help tell Norm Ai's story and advance its mission.

Responsibilities:

• Drive Client Success: Actively participate in and help lead client onboardings, ensuring a smooth adoption of the Norm Ai platform. Serve as the regulatory and compliance expert in client engagements, providing personalized support and ensuring clients derive maximum value from the platform.
• Regulatory Expertise and Analysis: Offer sophisticated insights on regulatory and compliance matters, connecting these insights to the platform's capabilities and the client's unique needs. Leverage our internal tools to further tailor our automated analysis of regulations to our clients' needs.
• Strategic Advocacy: Capture, organize, and present feedback that shapes product enhancements and improves client outcomes.
• Build Client Trust: Cultivate long-term relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor by proactively addressing challenges and identifying opportunities to add value.
• Custom Solutions: Develop tailored solutions, including preparing collateral, reviewing regulatory documents, and providing clients with actionable advice specific to their industry and organizational goals.
• Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve potential client issues, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and successful outcomes. Resolve any issues in a timely manner, engaging other internal resources as needed. Leave no stone unturned and always strive for excellence.
• Communications & Presentations: Craft compelling presentations, demos, and legal collateral to communicate complex ideas in an accessible, professional manner.

Skills & Experience - Core

• Juris Doctor (JD) required, with strong legal acumen and 1-2 years of experience in legal or compliance roles.
• Significant experience working with legal professionals, compliance officers, or in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, insurance).
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to convey complex legal and regulatory concepts in a client-friendly manner.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships.
• Highly independent and comfortable operating as an individual contributor.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Willingness to adapt, taking on both leadership and supportive roles as needed.

Skills & Experience - Pluses

• Prior experience in compliance consulting or regulatory advisory roles.
• Background in AI-powered technologies or legal technology platforms.
• Experience at a venture-backed company.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services or similar sectors.

What Success Looks Like

30 Days

• Master the Norm Ai platform and client onboarding processes.
• Gain a strong understanding of the compliance and regulatory frameworks Norm Ai supports.
• Confidently articulate Norm Ai's value proposition and deliver client demos.

60 Days

• Independently manage client onboarding and provide regular updates.
• Establish meaningful relationships with clients, understanding their unique legal and compliance needs.
• Surface actionable feedback to the product team, enhancing platform functionality.

90 Days

• Lead the entire client engagement lifecycle, from onboarding through renewal.
• Be regarded as a trusted legal and compliance advisor by clients.
• Drive client renewals and upsells by consistently demonstrating Norm Ai's value.
• Navigate complex client discussions with minimal preparation, effectively aligning their needs with Norm Ai's offerings.

Legal Engineer Deployments: All Legal Engineers may spend significant time on-site at client locations (typically in the NYC metro area) as we support in-depth AI deployments. These deployments are collaborative and high-impact.

Comp and Benefits

$175,000 - $225,000 per year plus equity.

The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills (as uncovered during the interview process), experience, and relevant education or training.
