Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer specializing in Civil Interface Control to support MTA transit infrastructure projects. This role ensures seamless integration between civil works and complex transit systems, maintaining compliance with design standards, and mitigating interface risks across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities

Interface Management: Develop and maintain interface control documents (ICDs) between civil works and systems (signaling, communications, power, track, etc.).

Requirements Analysis: Review and validate system requirements to ensure compatibility with civil engineering designs and construction activities.

Coordination: Coordinate between civil engineering teams, systems contractors, and MTA to resolve interface issues.

Design Integration: Support design reviews, identify conflicts, and propose solutions to ensure smooth integration of systems within civil structures.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to FTA standards and APTA guildelines.

Risk Management: Identify interface risks early and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, interface matrices, and maintain accurate records of design changes and approvals.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.

2 years of experience in system engineering for rail/transit projects or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred:

Familiarity with MTA and FTA guidelines
-
Proficiency in understanding civil works and transit systems integration.

Proficiency in interface control documentation and requirements management tools.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $90000 to $110000.
