We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Aide to join our team at Shady Grove Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation. As an Activities Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and implementing activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and entertainment programs
- Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activity calendar that meets the needs and interests of our residents
- Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, bathing, and dressing, as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, including listening to their concerns and providing reassurance
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activities
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas, including tables, chairs, and equipment
- Participate in care conferences and contribute to the development of individualized care plans for residents
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or training in gerontology or a related field preferred
- Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical records (EMRs)
