Job Summary:

As a Radiology Technologist, you will take x-rays for diagnostic purposes and provide vital support for the imaging department. This position focuses on performing plain films and fluoroscopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain procedures to patients clearly to ensure they understand and provide educational materials as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying their identity according to established protocols.
  • Assist with filing and managing patient reports and charts.
  • Follow strict radiation safety procedures to protect patients from unnecessary exposure.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within your scope of practice.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
  • Ensure high-quality images are submitted correctly to PACS.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Keep the department clean and organized, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • May assist with limited CT procedures in emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department.

Education:

  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing and walking, with lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Consistent visual acuity and hearing for communication and monitoring equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of objects between 25-50 pounds and other physical activities.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) or Temporary Accreditation.
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
