Class A CDL Delivery Driver

Job Description:

• Early morning dispatch from Rice, MN, four to five days a week, Monday through Saturday. Potential for multiple-night layovers with company-paid accommodations and food stipend. No Sundays.
• Minimum pay of $320 per day, plus additional component pay based on cases, miles, and stops.

Position Purpose:

Food delivery drivers play a vital role in the nation's food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products are delivered on time and in excellent condition while representing our company positively and building strong customer relationships.

Drivers are responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes, delivering and unloading food products in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
• Work as a team member to perform any assigned duties that best serve the company's interests.
• Conduct all necessary safety checks, including pre/post-trip inspections, to meet DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Report any safety issues or repairs needed.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
• Immediately report safety hazards; inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight.
• Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
• Deliver customer orders according to the scheduled route.
• Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated storage areas.
• Check for damages and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals per company policy.
• Confirm delivery of items with customers and secure proper signatures.
• Collect payments (cash or checks) when necessary and securely load customer returns onto the trailer.
• Ensure that all equipment, including tractors, trailers, and freight, is securely locked or secured.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete the necessary paperwork.
• Maintain daily records of service hours in accordance with Federal DOT and company regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the tractor and loading dock areas clean.
• At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete required paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Meet all state licensing requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass a road test.
• Current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
• Able to hand-lift and use equipment to move cases/freight of varying weights (generally ranging from 10-35 pounds up to 60-90 pounds).
