*This position is located on the island of Oahu and candidates must work in the state of Hawaii upon hire*

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Process new business, renewals, endorsements and other transactions, includes handling basic underwriting analysis for routine new business applications.
  • Input data into underwriting tools during pre-underwriting processes and/or gather missing information to assist underwriters in proper evaluation of new and renewal accounts
  • Collaborates with team members to address needs, updates, or concerns related to assigned accounts with understanding of core property & casualty line of business or insurance segment
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work well with other
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Able to follow directions and detail oriented
Assistant Underwriter I (including the above plus the following):
  • 1 - 2 years general office experience in insurance industry
Assistant Underwriter II (including the above plus the following):
  • 3 - 4 years general office experience in insurance industry
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial underwriting or rating experience


Salary:

$40,800 to $59,670 annually
