Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in New Carlisle, IN that is seeking skilled Power Technicians to join their commissioning team focused on energizing and validating IT rack power infrastructure. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals with experience in electrical systems and data center environments who excel in fast-paced, technical settings.Responsibilities:
  • Safely energize IT racks by verifying power feeds and activating PDUs in accordance with engineering standards
  • Follow detailed commissioning procedures and safety protocols
  • Conduct pre- and post-energization checks, including circuit labeling, load balancing, and breaker configurations
  • Utilize diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters) to inspect power connections and grounding
  • Collaborate with engineers and site teams to troubleshoot and escalate issues
  • Document commissioning activities and test results
  • Support troubleshooting at the rack or PDU level
  • Adhere to safety standards including LOTO and arc flash protection
  • Assist other teams during commissioning and go-live phases
  • Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams
Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical power distribution or data center operations
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, PDUs, RPPs, breakers, and grounding
  • Familiarity with rack power architecture (A/B feeds, redundancy, breaker panels)
  • Ability to interpret schematics and commissioning plans


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
