Lead Database Engineer

Leidos is in search of a talented Lead Database Engineer to contribute to the DHS Insider Threat Program (ITP) under the HEITS Contract. This is an exciting role where you will leverage your skills to design, maintain, and upgrade the database infrastructure that is vital for addressing insider threats through advanced monitoring and data correlation.
Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain the ITP database backend infrastructure.

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as reindexing, backups, transaction log management, and cluster support.

Design and implement robust database encryption solutions like Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).

Document and uphold configuration standards.

Develop and execute plans for system recapitalization to facilitate capacity improvement.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the entire database infrastructure.

Create and enhance stored procedures, queries, and views for optimal performance.

Support data warehouse features and integration efforts.

Optimize database schemas to ensure referential integrity, effective cascading transactions, indexing, and high performance.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years.

Deep expertise in Oracle database management, upgrades, and maintenance.

Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and various other database platforms.

Ability to integrate different data types into cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3).

Strong knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS) and database design principles.

Proven experience with database migrations and data repository connectivity.

Eligible to acquire DHS EOD SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in IT Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

10+ years of experience in IT service delivery management.

Familiarity with User Activity Monitoring platforms.

Experience with the Everfox High-Speed Guard Platform.

Proficiency in Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, or other DBMS.
