We are on the lookout for a dynamic and dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to bolster our expanding team. As part of our engineering group, you will:
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for our evolving feature set by collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to understand both new and existing features.
- Execute test plans leading up to client releases, while diligently tracking issues and their resolutions with engineers to facilitate a seamless release process.
Being an early-stage and fully remote company, we seek a driven individual who can significantly contribute to moving our product forward. The ideal candidate will be adept at quick thinking, collaborating with highly technical teams, and thriving in an asynchronous work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement thorough test plans across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, iOS, tvOS, Android, and Linux, ensuring consistent functionality and an excellent user experience.
- Assist in test automation by pinpointing high-priority or error-prone areas for automation.
- Work alongside developers to identify and solve issues, guaranteeing a smooth release trajectory.
- Proactively assess existing features under various scenarios to confirm their robustness and reliability.
- Monitor release blockers and collaborate with the team for timely resolution.
- Evaluate incoming issues and escalate critical concerns to the appropriate team members.
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including experience in client testing.
- Proven track record of testing applications across Windows, macOS, iOS, tvOS, Android, and Linux environments, with knowledge of platform-specific testing tools and debugging methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, firewalls, and VPN technologies, with the ability to analyze network traffic and troubleshoot connectivity challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in producing detailed test documentation, bug reports, and technical specifications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with various test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium or Appium.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Go for writing test scripts and automation tools.
At Tailscale, we are committed to maintaining an equitable compensation structure across all roles and levels. Our compensation package comprises base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The displayed salary range for each job offer indicates the target range for a new hire's base salary, with individual offers possibly varying based on experience and skills.
US Pay Ranges: $143,000 - $179,000 USD
