POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for processing and coordinating reservations, bed Assignments for admissions and transfers. Serves as a liaison and resource for physicians, physician's office staff, nursing, ancillary departments and registration staff.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Well versed in medical terminology, hospital service, accommodation codes, policies and procedures.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors, medical staff, nursing and non-clinical staff in all situations.

EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma required.
• Some medical terminology and business courses preferred.

TRAINING:
• Three months of on-the-job training with previous registration and/or related experience

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
• Proficiency in spelling, grammar, medical terminology and computer skills.
• Able to maintain professional demeanor under stress.
• Able to continuously prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Able to communicate effectively and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors, medical staff, nursing, non-clinical staff, and coworkers in all situations.

LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
• None Required

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital.
• Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment.
• Ensuring that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Displays concern and aids or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations.
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
• Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

Must clear background and drug test required.
