Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Tester to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications, with a focus on mainframe systems and interfaces within the Child Support domain. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements, identify defects, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function as an integral member of an Agile project team, collaborating with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios, scripts, and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing to validate software quality.
  • Identify, document, report, and track defects using designated tools; work collaboratively with development teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.
  • Validate data integrity and flow between mainframe systems and other interfaces (e.g., APIs).
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test results, progress reports, and summary logs.
  • Provide support to end-users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase, guiding them through processes and documenting feedback.
  • Uphold all relevant federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to Child Support systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience in software testing, including significant hands-on experience with Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2) and analyzing batch job results.
  • Methodology: Extensive knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Good knowledge and practical experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
    • Good knowledge of defect management processes and tools, specifically Atlassian Jira and qTest.
    • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
    • Experience with Salesforce testing is a strong advantage.
  • Domain Knowledge: Good knowledge of applicable federal/state/local rules, regulations, statutes, and procedures related to Child Support services.
