Hourly Pay Range:

$17.00 - $58.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights:
  • Position: Aquatic Swim Instructor - Wellness Center
  • Location: Arlington Heights, IL
  • Per Diem
  • Hours: Saturdays or Sundays starting at 10:00 AM; Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 PM; Tuesdays starting at 6:15 PM; Fridays starting at 1:00 PM
  • Required Travel: No

What you will do:

  • Teaching individual and semi-private swim lessons, with a strong emphasis on water safety, proper technique, and building confidence in the water.
  • Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons tailored to student needs, clearly demonstrating swimming strokes and techniques, closely observing students' progress and providing constructive feedback, and consistently ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Instructors will also communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and regularly assess student progress to adapt instruction accordingly.

What you will need:

  • The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school
  • Minimum two years' experience in related field required
  • Lifeguard certification preferred
  • USMS Masters Coaching Certified or USA Swim preferred
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association required
  • AED required
  • Water Safety Instructor certification through accredited US Swimming Foundation
