Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing Segment is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be part of our National Space Systems Integration & Test team based in San Diego, CA.

Your Role: As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, from raw materials to finished products, ensuring both efficiency and quality. This position will involve close coordination with various teams including Planning & Production Control, Engineers, and Operations Leads to ensure material readiness and proper documentation for floor operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Manufacturing Orders to align with project schedules.
  • Transform raw materials into completed products by implementing effective procedures and techniques.
  • Utilize MES software (Solumina) for tracking and controlling the manufacturing processes, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Generate and maintain Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs).
  • Create routings in Solumina to reflect accurate run times.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects within the manufacturing environment.
  • Identify risks in production processes and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain production flow through MRP systems, including managing changes and make/buy decisions.
  • Oversee Configuration & Data Management processes to manage and track changes.
  • Define manufacturing processes, procedures, and production flow for assembly, integration, and testing of space products.
  • Coordinate production workflow, organizing and scheduling all production activities, materials, and personnel.
  • Resolve production-related issues such as configuration changes and material shortages.
  • Track and report production job status using spreadsheets and custom reports.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations Leads for streamlined production.
  • Expedite jobs as necessary to resolve material shortages.
  • Adhere to ISO9001/AS9100 processes within the department.
  • Willingness to work second or third shift as required is essential.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • Basic experience in Manufacturing, Assembly & Integration involving Electrical, Electromechanical, and/or Mechanical components.
  • Must reside in the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to Huntsville - North Alabama, AL.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a Final Secret Clearance or the eligibility to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with test operations, including setup and calibration of GSE used in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, and integration processes, as well as procedure development and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics assembly processes and equipment.
  • Experience in project scheduling and familiarity with Agile or Windchill configuration management.
  • Experience working in clean room environments.
  • Knowledge of Deltek, Costpoint ERP & MRP systems, Solumina, and Windchill.
  • Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation: Pay range is $57,850.00 - $104,575.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
