Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our dynamic team.

JOB SUMMARY:
As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care by greeting patients, activating their files, and extending support to both patients and medical staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
While the following duties are essential, additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Greet patients and prepare them for examinations or procedures.
  • Record health histories and identify any abnormal conditions for the physician.
  • Instruct patients on the collection of necessary samples and tests.
  • Obtain vital signs and escort patients to examination rooms.
  • Assist in preparing supplies and supporting the physician or mid-level practitioner during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Administer injections and prescribed medications following physician directives and nursing standards.
  • Monitor and document patients' conditions, reporting any reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entries in patient charts.
  • Maintain patient files and assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
  • Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens and retrieve lab test results.
  • Inform patients about test results and follow-up appointments.
  • Keep exam/treatment rooms clean and restocked between procedures.
  • Follow clinic policies for infection control and safe disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Educate patients and their families about medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Support the provider during physical exams and help prepare for them.
  • Contact pharmacies to order prescriptions and keep patients informed.
  • Manage medication inventory and monitor controlled substances.
  • Oversee supply inventory and medical equipment maintenance.
  • Respond to and triage telephone calls appropriately for patient care needs.

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE?
Our full-time team members enjoy a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, which includes 12-hour weekday shifts and every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is mandatory.
Experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
Must hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in accordance with state regulations.
